San Francisco Giants Win The World Series

San Francisco, you are the World Series champions! With this grand accomplishment, I am reminded of two things I deeply cherish:

A belief that “Baseball is an allegorical play about America, a poetic, complex, and subtle play of courage, fear, good luck, mistakes, patience about fate, and sober self-esteem.”
-Saul Steinberg

And my dad and grandmother believed in your greatness, even when you were not.

To my favorite Giants fans, who never wavered, this one’s for you!

What a mouth full that is. Potential. Can we see potential in teams as well as in people? Teams are generally variables. Members come and go. Likely the only constant would be the trainer or the owner. Has that stayed the same over the years?

    1. This team has been around since 1883. Good years and bad years combined to make the history of it. And a championship testifies to the determination of each individual, working together as one entity; the team that won.

  2. I just got back to my place in San Francisco after a long flight from Atlanta. I missed the game, but the pilot announced about an hour before we landed that the Giants had won, 3-2, and everyone n the plane broke out into applause and cheers. Congrats to the Giants, 2014 World Series Champions!

  3. My friend Ken always wears his Giant’s hat and T-shirt. I am amazed at the number of Giant’s fans who are constantly stopping him to talk about the team, winning or losing. –Curt

  4. I loved it!!! It was the best series ever! And I was around for the 72-74 A’s World Series. That was good too but there is just something about this team! My hubby went to the parade yesterday and it was a madhouse!
